Frequently Asked Questions

1)        Do I pay sales tax?               

No sales tax will be charged to delivery locations outside of the state of Michigan. West 57 Design is, however, required to collect 6% sales tax on all orders shipped to a Michigan address.  

2)         Do I have to pay by Pay Pal?

Yes, we feel this is the most secure payment option we can offer you. It is a trusted site. Please know that any information you give will not be sold or released to a third party. 

 3)         Why are my initials monogrammed in the order of first, last, then middle initial?

This specific order is a standard in personalization. In most instances, the last name initial will be the largest initial in the center. In this format the last name is emphasized and centered. The first name initial is on the left and the middle initial is on the right. Although, for a couple the man’s first name initial is on the left and the women’s is on the right. An example is John and Marie Smith would be JSM with the S bigger. This monogram is also used for the feminine monogram.

Some monograms place initials in the regular order of first, middle, and last include the Block font, the Times New Roman font or the Gotta Have Fun font; these are normally for masculine monogram, although they do work for women also.

4)         Why do I need to enter a thread color and font style?

The goal of our service to you is to provide personalized products that you will love. You may choose the thread color or font that you wish. The example picture is not the only color thread available. Please check the variety of threads available for each product; we have selected ones that will match your product.

 5)         An item that I purchased is on backorder. When can I expect to receive it?

Although most of our products are usually in stock, you still may run across something that is not in stock. We will provide you with the most up-to-date information of a product’s availability. Remember that many of our products require a hand-made process and take time to complete.  

6)         Christmas is coming soon, and I haven’t finished my shopping. Can I still order and receive my gifts in time?

More than likely, the answer varies. Our Last Order Day for Christmas is December 10th. We may recommend different shipping options that could potentially get your gift to it’s’ destination on time.

7)         Can I have my company’s logo personalized on a product?

Yes, in most cases, we are able to customize your logos. If you have a logo you would like us to use, please email us a pdf, jpeg, or ie file of the logo and we can discuss your options. There is a digitizing or set up fee for this service. Please email for information and quotes.

8)         Do you offer corporate, group or quantity discounts?

Yes! Please email us with your request and we will get back with you on the discount. This will vary on the type of item you are looking to purchase.

9)        When will my order be shipped?

Since all of our products are specialty items, personalization takes a few extra days. If an item will take longer we will designate it in the product description.The normal shipping time is 2-8 days after receiving your order. An average arrival time is about 9-14 days after the order is placed.  Items ordered together are not necessarily shipped together. During the holiday season there may be a longer shipping time. If you need an order rushed, please specify the date you need the order by when placing your order and we’ll try to accommodate as best we can. We will email you a rush rate for shipping to get your approval on costs.

10)        How will my order be shipped to me?

At West 57 Design we ship UPS ground or USPS. Many of our special products are shipped directly from our exclusive vendors from across the country. We take great pride in our one of a kind, personalized gifts. You may receive your purchases in separate boxes and at different times.

11)        I just received my order and the monogram’s wrong! What should I do?

Go back and check the submitted order. Make sure the monogram is typed correctly the way you wanted. If the monogram is wrong and it’s our fault, we will gladly replace it! Just email us with the corrections.

12)        What is the policy on returns and replacements?

Unfortunately due to the fact that most of our products are intended for a one time usage and many items are personalized, we cannot accept returns on any merchandise.  Please check the personalization information carefully before submitting your order. All sales are final.

If you receive a damaged item, please email rick@west57design.com with your invoice number. We will send out a replacement label to return your item at no charge. When you receive your replacement label please place your item in the box it came in, affix the label, and return the damaged merchandise to us. Do not include anything else in your return shipment. All claims must be made within 5 business days of receipt of order.   

13)      Can I change my order after it is placed?

Due to the nature of our business and our personalization, once an order is placed we cannot accept changes to your order. We will e-mail you if we have any questions.
